More Inappropriate Behavior inside the Prison Walls

Prison Sex Scandal

As noted yesterday in our Correctional Process course, the abuse of one's position inside prison can make for some interesting headlines if people are actually caught. It was noted also that some of this is often times covered up by other staff members. To obtain an accurate picture of the nature and extent of such actions may prove difficult for the criminologist interested in this phenomenon.

Crime and Money

In an effort to crack down on crime, the federal government seeks to provide monies to cities in need. Twenty (20) million is the figure now being used as President Bush is putting in his requests for funding. This article highlights a focus on violent crime and gang related crime as the main areas of focus. It also notes a decrease in violent crime for the first half of 2007. Questions often arise as to where the money is to be spent and how the money should be spent. Your thoughts????
